Proper disposal of compact fluorescent light bulbs
Compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs contain a very small amount of mercury, so do not put used CFLs in the garbage.
While the amount of mercury in a single bulb is extremely small, it will harm the environment if large numbers of bulbs are disposed of in landfills.
Our Local Puget Sound Energy office will recycle your CFL bulbs free of charge. The PSE office location is 18125 Vashon Hwy sw, Vashon Island.
**Please note they do not take the longer and larger flourecent tubes.

There are other recycling options for your home electronics and computers. Many of us commute off Vashon Island to Seattle. RE-PC on 6 th avenue south of downtown Seattle will recycle most of your electronics for free. They are located at 1565 6 th Ave. South, Seattle, Wa. Phone 206-623-9151
